While we initially began as the first European wholesaler solely dedicated to hojicha, we’ve decided to add matcha to our catalogue after it was requested by our current customers.
Here are the three different powders you can currently get from us.
Ceremonial Imperial Grade Matcha
Grown in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture, this first-harvest (April) imperial-grade matcha is made from the Yabukita, Asahi, Saemidori, Samidori, and Okumidori cultivars.
It features an exceptional umami with no bitterness, delivering a mellow, refined taste and a rich aroma reminiscent of premium green nori.
Ideal for: traditional Japanese tea ceremonies and premium preparations.
Premium Grade Matcha
Our house blend from Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, combines second-flush (June) leaves of Saemidori, Okumidori, and Yutakamidori cultivars.
Vibrant green in color with a well-balanced profile, it offers smooth versatility for both traditional and modern uses.
Ideal for: matcha lattes, drinks, Eastern and Western treats, and everyday kitchen applications.
Culinary Grade Matcha
Also sourced from Kagoshima Prefecture, this entry-level organic matcha uses third-flush leaves from the August and September harvest. It provides a soft bitterness and fresh scent at an accessible price point while maintaining the quality expected from Japanese-grown tea.
Ideal for: daily lattes, desserts, baking, and high-volume food production.
All three grades are certified JAS, shaded for 3–4 weeks, and chosen for their freshness and consistency. Samples and 1 kg retail bags are available through our webshop, while larger wholesale orders benefit from competitive bulk pricing and reliable shipping both from Belgium and from Japan.
This launch strengthens Hojicha Wholesale’s commitment to bringing the very best of Japan directly to European businesses. Explore the full matcha range today and elevate your menu or product line with authentic Japanese matcha powder.
